Wish You Were Here etc. along with Jarvis, Elliott Smith, surprise guests Mogwai and pictures...

Day two began with grey skies and a fine drizzle everywhere – the kind of rain that makes you wet to the bones – and a few sorry heads trying to fight off hangovers with soft drinks and walks around the deserted camp.

There was a general agreement that the Fannies had been great the night before and an air of anticipation for the night to come. The five-a-side tournament got underway with Belle & Sebastian, Salako, Teenage Fanclub and most of the other bands fielding teams.

Some people stay in their chalets and watch the films on Bowlie TV – everything from Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory to Get Carter – or ram into the makeshift cinema where they’re showing To Sir With Love and Dumbo.

Most of the bands wandered around, not hiding away in roped off VIP areas as happens at most festivals.

Visitors include Jarvis Cocker and Elliott Smith (pictured), who stands talking to Janet from Sleater Kinney as a few Japanese girl fans wait to have their photos taken.

Mogwai (pictured)are ubiquitous, leading to speculation that there are actually three or four Mogwais here today.

Another ever present figure is Duglas, of BMX Bandits fame, done up in a blue blazer, looking and acting like a proper Pontins bluecoat.

For surprise guests, they’re arse at keeping a secret.- it’s Mogwai. V Twin are rescheduled from last night and kick off the day’s proceedings at 4.15 pm.
