EMBRACE paid tribute to Aussie rockers JET after replacing them on the NME STAGE at tonight’s (August 21) V FESTIVAL in CHELMSFORD.
The band, who were a last minute addition to the bill following the death of Jet pair Nic and Chris Cester’s father, expressed their condolences during their triumphant comeback set.
Singer Danny McNamara told the crowd: “I know you were expecting another band tonight. I don’t what I’d do if mine and Richard’s (guitarist and Danny’s brother) dad died.”
He added: “So I express my condolences to Jet. I don’t know what to say so I’ll dedicate ’Gravity’ (the band’s new single, penned by pal Chris Martin) to Jet.”
The band played a string of hits, including ’Come Back To What You Know’ and ’All You Good Good People’, as well as a host of new tracks.
