Embrace headline new Scottish festival

Don't play your England World Cup song...

Embrace are to headline a new two-day music festival on the Scottish island of Orkney.

The news comes shortly after it was revealed the band have recorded England’s official World Cup song ‘World At Your Feet’.

The Yorkshire outfit will play MagFest on July 1. Also on the bill that day is Sandi Thom. The Proclaimers and The Saw Doctors play the day before (June 30).

Orkney‘s regular St Magnus Festival and Neil Stevenson from Grooves record shop in Kirkwall have joined forces to stage the new event in the town’s Pickaquoy Centre.

There will also be a host of local music acts performing on both nights.

Tickets go onsale on Saturday (May 13).
