Emeli Sande returns to the top of UK Album Chart

FUN finally reach Number 1 in UK Singles Chart after seven weeks with 'We Are Young'

Emeli Sande has returned to the top of the Official UK Album chart with her debut ‘Our Version Of Events’.

The Scottish singer out-sold Joe Bonamassa, who entered at Number Two in the chart with ‘Driving Towards The Daylight’, by less than 100 copies, according to the Official Charts Company.

Guitar hero Bonamassa was favourite to take the top spot in the mid-week chart. ‘Driving Towards The Daylight’ is the New York guitarist’s thirteenth studio album and it’s his highest ever UK entry.

Meanwhile, Adele holds firm in the Top Five with ’21’ climbing one place to Number Three and John Mayer scored a personal best, entering the charts at Number Four with his new album ‘Born and Raised’.

Following the death of The Bee Gees‘ Robin Gibb last weekend, ‘The Bee Gees’ Number Ones’ has shot up 29 places to reach Number Five in the UK Album Chart. The group’s greatest hits record, ‘The Ultimate Bee Gees’, also re-enters at Number 35.

Elsewhere, The Temper Trap are at Number 17 with their second, self-titled album. St Etienne are at Number 26 with ‘Words and Music’ and ex-Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash is at Number 27 with ‘Apocalyptic Love’.

In the UK Singles Chart, FUN finally reach Number One, after seven weeks on the chart, with ‘We Are Young’. They beat off stiff competition from The Wanted, who could only settle for the second spot with ‘Chasing The Sun’.

‘Call Me Maybe’ by Canadian popster Carly Rae Jepsen is a non-mover at Number Three, while Rita Ora’s ‘RIP’ slips to Number Four. Alex Clare completes the Top Five with ‘Too Close’.

Emeli Sande, Rita Ora and The Temper Trap are playing at this year’s T In The Park, which is taking place July 6-8 in Balado Park, Kinross. To check the availability of T In The Park 2012 tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
