Video for rapper's latest single was previously available as an Apple Music exclusive
Eminem develops super powers in the video for new single ‘Phenomenal’.
The song, which appeared on the soundtrack to this year’s boxing film Southpaw, is accompanied by a big budget video in which Eminem wakes up in hospital and must break out in order to make it to a live show. Previously available exclusively on Apple Music, the video arrived on YouTube today (October 1).
The video proceeds to show Eminem hunted across Tokyo as he rides a flaming motorbike and a helicopter in a bid to get to the gig. He eventually makes the show, landing onstage with Dr Dre who makes a cameo appearance in his protégé’s latest promo clip. John Malkovich and Randall Park also appear in the video.
The video is available to watch now:
Eminem was originally set to star in Southpaw when it was announced in December 2010, but later postponed the project and eventually dropped out entirely. He was replaced by Jake Gyllenhaal.
Rita Ora has a small role as a dishevelled drug addict and prostitute in the forthcoming boxing drama, in which Gyllenhaal stars as a retired fighter who launches a comeback following the death of his wife. The film’s impressive cast also includes Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris and Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson.
Eminem recently starred alongside Dr Dre and 50 Cent in a feature-length documentary on the Shady Records label.
Eminem released his latest album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ in 2013.
