'I Need A Doctor' singer says she 'feels sorry' for rap star
Skylar Grey has said she feels sorry for Eminem because he lives such an isolated life.
The 25-year-old singer, who featured alongside Eminem on Dr Dre‘s ‘I Need A Doctor’, said the the rapper was scared to leave his house.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she commented:
I feel sorry for Em. It’s kind of sad. I see a lot of isolation. I wonder if he has got any really close friends. I think he is scared to go out the front door ’cos somebody is always waiting for him. Everybody wants something from him… Seeing him so isolated behind a lot of protectors, I feel bad for him.
Eminem put any isolation behind him to headline V Festival last weekend (August 20-21). Presumably the reported £2million fee he picked up helped ease the pain.
Skylar Grey, meanwhile, played her first-ever London show at XOYO on Monday night (August 22). The LA-based singer/producer, real name Holly Brook Hafermann, has featured as guest vocalist on a string of US hits, including Fort Minor’s ‘Where’d You Go’, Dr. Dre’s ‘I Need a Doctor’ and Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Words I Never Said’.
Grey also helped write sections of all three versions of ‘Love The Way You Lie’ by Eminem feat. Rihanna. She is set to release her second album ‘Invinsible’, featuring a guest spot from Marilyn Manson, later this year.
