Eminem honours Nate Dogg during Osheaga headline set

Rapper also brings out his own spin on B.O.B's 'Airplane's during Canadian festival

Eminem paid tribute to friend and fellow hip hop artist Nate Dogg during his headline set at Canada’s Osheaga Festival last night (July 29).

The rapper, who was playing only his third gig of 2011, dedicated recent track ‘Till I Collapse’ to the rapper, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

He said to the 75,000 strong crowd “Make some noise for Nate Dogg y’all” and even dropped a section of the track ‘The Next Episode’, which features the rapper on vocals alongside Dr Dre. He also paid a visual tribute to Nate Dogg on the projection screen behind his stage set-up.

Eminem, who was sporting a T-shirt emblazoned with the name ‘Bad Meets Evil’, the debut release from his collaboration with rapper Royce Da 5’9′. From this release he played two tracks, ‘Fast Lane’ and ‘Lighters’ and encouraged the crowd to listen to the EP. Other than this and a few small gee ups for the crowd, Eminem stayed largely quiet throughout the set, instead opting to rifle through an enormous chunk of his discography.

The Detroit rapper seldom finished a song, opting instead to flick through clips and cut short versions of hits ‘The Real Slim Shady’, ‘Without Me’ and ‘Sing For The Moment’. He also performed a cover of the 2010 hit single ‘Airplanes’, which was originally performed by rapper B.O.B and Paramore singer Hayley Williams.
