Eminem and Jay-Z to play join co-headline US shows

Pair to play Detroit and New York in September

Eminem and Jay-Z are set to play a pair of joint headline shows in their respective home cities of Detroit and New York.

The stadium shows will take place on September 2 at Comerica Park in Detroit and on September 13 at the Yankee Stadium in New York.

News of the shows was revealed at yesterday’s New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers baseball game at Comerica Park, reports Billboard.

“The fans are going to love this – and so am I. It’s gonna be historic,” said Eminem, whose new album ‘Recovery’ is due for release on June 21.

“I’ve always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music,” added Jay-Z. “How perfect is it that Eminem and I get to play our hometowns and show how far the live rap experience has come?”

Eminem and Jay-Z will also be sharing a bill in the UK this summer before the Stateside shows, both at Oxygen and T In The Park.
