Rap troupe play afternoon Slam Tent gig
Eminem‘s Detroit rap crew D12 played an afternoon show at the T In The Park festival this afternoon (July 10) – although the rapper, set to headline the festival tonight, did not join his former bandmates.
The band played as a five-piece in the Slam Tent with DJ Young Mase helming the decks and MCs Bizarre, Kuniva, Denaun Porter and Swifty supplying the rhymes.
They were on energetic form, leading singalongs, rapping freestyle interludes and performing songs including ‘Murder’, ‘Loyalty’, ‘Pimp Like Me’, ‘Revelation’, ’40 Oz’, ‘American Psycho 2’ and ‘Get My Gun’.
They also played Bizarre‘s solo song ‘Rock Star’ and gave a shout-out to Scotland, asking: “Yo Scotland, how many psycho motherfuckers we got out there tonight?” before ‘American Psycho 2’. Bizarre delighted the crowd by peeling off his shirt to flounce his ample heft, jumping to make the fat flaps on his upper body jig in time to the music.
They also paid tribute to their late member Proof, leading a shout-out from the crowd for him. They ended with an encore of ‘Get My Gun’.
