Eminem to star in new film ‘Southpaw’

Movie will see him team up with Kurt Sutter

Eminem is set to star in a new film written by Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter named Southpaw.

Sutter said he has been trying to work with Eminem for seven years, adding that the duo found common ground with the subject matter of the film, which is about a boxer.

“He’ll play a world champion boxer who really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter,” Sutter said, reports Deadline.com.

He added that the story will relate to Eminem‘s well-publicised struggles with prescription drugs, saying: “At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy.”

Eminem‘s last movie, 8 Mile, came out in 2002.

No release date for Southpaw has been scheduled yet.
