Eminem ‘meets with teenage fan who has just one week to live’

Detroit teen Gage Garmo is believed to have just days left to live

Eminem is reported to have met with a terminally ill fan following a social media campaign to get the pair together.

Teenager Gage Garmo suffers from Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, and according to reports has been told he has just one week to live. As a lifelong Eminem fan, his dying wish was to meet the rapper. A campaign led by friends and family on Twitter (#GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem) began last week, in an bid to bring the artist and Garmo together.

TMZ reports that on Sunday (January 11) Eminem made the wish come true, having been alerted to Gage’s condition by a member of his team. Detroit based Eminem travelled to Gage’s home in their shared state of Michigan. It is reported that “he did not want the visit to become a media spectacle” and spent an hour with the 17 year old at his home.

The moment of charity from Eminem follows a number of more negative incidents for the rapper, including Charli XCX labelling him ‘disgusting’ with regards to a track in which the rapper threatened Iggy Azalea with rape.

It was also reported that he is being sued for $8 million by Chicago rappers Hotstylz over the lyrics to his 2013 hit track ‘Rap God’.
