A UK tabloid states the controversial rapper will appear at the Earl's Court ceremony...

EMINEM has been slated to perform at this year’s

BRIT AWARDS ceremony.

According to a report in today’s (January 29) Sun newspaper, the star will appear at the event at Earl’s Court in London on February 26.

No further details are available as to what he is likely to perform.

Neither a spokesperson for the Brits, nor for

Eminem, could be reached for comment at press time this morning.

The news follows similar Brit appearance rumours surrounding REM and Morrissey. The ex-Smiths frontman was mooted to make a rare live UK appearance fronting the Athens, Georgia three-piece at the show.

And late last week NME.COM learned that current band of the moment, Limp Bizkit, had been approached to appear. A source close to the band, currently at number one in both the UK single and

album charts, said that they had yet to decide. The band are due to be on

holiday during the time of the Brits, and a decision on whether to break their holiday and attend has not yet been taken.
