Eminem could be sued by his own mother over lyrics in his current hit ‘My Name Is’.
In a recent UK interview the rapper, real name Marshall Mathers, revealed his mother Debbie was considering litigation over the lyric, “I just found out my mom does more dope than I do”.
Although no legal papers have been served as yet, Eminem‘s US press officer confirmed: “There are obviously problems, but that’s sort of personal.” She continued: “It’s strictly rumour at the moment but he has mentioned it before.”
The controversial 24-year-old rapper, aka Slim Shady, has already angered US music industry magazine Billboard with his explicit lyrics about rape, violence and drugs.
The magazine took out a full page advertisement condemning his debut album which went straight to number two in the US charts.
A ‘clean’ version of ‘My Fault’, from ‘The Slim Shady LP’ is set to be released as the new single.
Eminem‘s UK press officer couldn’t confirm ‘My Fault’ would be the new single or the rumours that the rapper will play a set at this year’s T In The Park Festival (July 10-11) in Perthshire.
