ELTON JOHN is rumoured to be teaming up with EMINEM onstage again at this year’s BRIT AWARDS, following their duet of ‘STAN’ at last night’s GRAMMY AWARDS.
According to a report in this morning’s Sun newspaper (February 22), John wants to present the controversial rapper with the award for ‘Best International Male’ at this year’s Brits, which take place at Earl’s Court in London on February 26.
A UK spokesperson for the Brits was unavailable for comment this morning, but Eminem will definitely be appearing at the awards, where he is set to perform a medley of his hits to date, including ‘The Real Slim Shady’. Other confirmed live acts include Coldplay, Destiny’s Child, Craig David and U2.
Eminem picked up three awards at last night’s Grammys, despite picketing from approximately 200 gay rights protesters outside the LA venue. He picked up the awards for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group and Best Rap Solo Performance.
He received a standing ovation for his duet with John. The pair embraced after a version of ‘Stan’, with John providing the part usually sung by Dido. The track is already available on Napster, [url=]www.napster.com.
Speaking previously, John has defended his opinion of Eminem. He said: “I don’t know why everyone is getting so crazy about this, it’s just pop music.
“As a gay artist, I’m asked by a lot of people, ‘What about the content of Eminem’s music?’ It appeals to my English sense of humour.”
