Meanwhile, Ash and Feeder slug it out in the indie-rock arena...

EMMA BUNTON unleashes her solo effort ‘WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?’ on the UK singles market today (April 2).

And the big question is whether the Spice Girl will breach the Top 10 – and how high she will go against Hear’say.

According to HMV’s chart expert, she could go all the way to the top. “We are expecting that to sell really well, it should make Number One.”

The hottest battle takes place in the indie-rock arena this week, with Feeder and Ash doing battle with their singles ‘Seven Days In The Sun’ and ‘Burn Baby Burn’ respectively. On recent form, Feeder are expected to make the Top 10, while the chart commentator said that Ash may just trail behind.

Experts predict that Li’l Bow Wow’s ‘Bow Wow That’s My Name’ is destined for the Top Five, and Modjo, who are ‘Chillin”, are likely to be looking at another Top 10 hit.

Australian ‘Popstars’ winners Bardot release ‘Poison’, but it is unlikely to replicate the phenomenal success of chart-toppers Hear’say and the band are looking set for the Top 15.

Elvis Presley could make a comeback to the Top 30 this week with the live re-release of ‘Suspicious Minds’.

And the chart expert said that two singles which are not chart-eligible – recent NME ‘On’ band Gloss’ ‘Lonely In Paris’ and Sigur Ros‘ re-released ‘Svefn-G-Englar’ – are both expected to sell well this week.
