EMMA BUNTON has retained the Number One spot, with her single ‘WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?’ making it two weeks at the top of the UK single chart.

The track beat off competition from this week’s highest new entry, Janet Jackson’s ‘All For You’ at Number Three, and Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me’, which retained its Number Two position for the fourth consecutive week.

Bunton is the first Spice Girl to have a solo single remain at Number One for more than one week.

Of this week’s other new entries, Gabrielle’s new single ‘Out Of Reach’ entered the chart at Number Four, Robbie Williams’ ‘Let Love Be Your Energy’ entered at Number 10 and Sugababes single ‘Run For Cover’ entered the Top 20 at Number 13.

Elsewhere, Faith Hill’s ‘The Way You Love Me’ entered the chart at Number 15, Linkin Park’s ‘Crawling’ charted at Number 16 and Toploader’s new single ‘Only For A While’ scraped into the Top 20 at Number 19.
