Empire Of The Sun record new song ‘Welcome To My Life’ for vodka advert – watch

The Australian band are working on the follow up to 2013's 'Ice On The Dune' album

Empire Of The Sun have unveiled a new track entitled ‘Welcome To My Life’.

The Australian duo – comprised of Luke Steel and Nick Littlemore – recorded the song for a new Absolut vodka advert. The song sees producer Littlemore take on lead vocal duties for the verses, with Steele singing the chorus.

“Our music is about more than just being memorable,” the band told Billboard. “We aim to make music that transcends and takes you to another dimension, creating an experience beyond the earth and out of the ordinary that sticks with you long after the night is over, much like Absolut Nights.”

Last year, Empire Of The Sun contributed new song ‘Wandering Star’ to the Dumb And Dumber To film soundtrack.

Empire Of The Sun’s released their last album ‘Ice On The Dune’ in 2013. Speaking at the time, Steele said that the LP was a better record than Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories, which was released the same year.

“I was aware that Daft Punk were getting more press coverage than our record, but I wasn’t too concerned. ‘Ice On The Dune’ is filled with such great songs that it’ll hang around a lot longer than some of those other records that came out around the same time. They had a great marketing campaign, but we’ve got better songs,” the frontman said.
