Hiphop pioneer ERICK SERMON is in a serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit of a NEW JERSEY hospital following a car accident.
Though police are reluctant to confirm details of the accident, it appears that Sermon was involved in a collision on Tuesday night (September 25) with another vehicle and the collision forced his car into a wall.
A spokesperson for his label J Records said Sermon suffered a broken jaw, broken leg and head injuries.
Sermon, formerly one half of influential hiphop duo EPMD, has been enjoying a resurgence of late. He reappeared in the mainstream with ‘Music’, his track built around a sample lifted from Marvin Gaye, enjoying US chart and sales success. He has also been working on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Redman and Method Man comedy feature film ‘How High’, and was set to release his new solo album ‘Music’, featuring appearances from R Kelly, Foxy Brown, Redman and Debbie Harry.
