First wave of acts for annual Welsh festival confirmed
The first wave of acts for this year’s Sŵn Festival have been announced with Everything Everything and Deerhunter among the bands set to perform in Cardiff this October.
The four-day multi-venue festival will take place in Cardiff between October 17-20 with Deerhunter performing their first ever Welsh show on the Friday (October 18) of the festival. Other acts confirmed to perform across the weekend include Dutch Uncles, Waxahatchee, Wolf Alice, Temples, Swearin’ and Chloe Howl.
Sŵn Festival 2013 will be hosted across various venues in and around the centre of Cardiff, with Fuel, Angel Hotel, Sherman Cymru, Jacob’s Market and St John’s Church in Canton added as new Sŵn Festival venues for 2013. They join the likes of Clwb Ifor Bach, The Moon Club, Buffalo and Gwdihŵ on the festival’s location list.
Gem White, Event Manager for Sŵn Festival said: “We are really excited for Sŵn Festival 2013, which will be our seventh annual multi-venue new music festival in Cardiff. Last year’s festival was attended by over 5,000 people over the four days and hosted over 200 live acts and DJs. So we’ve set the bar pretty high for ourselves this year!”
Earlybird tickets for the festival will be on sale from noon today (June 10) with a full four-day Earlybird wristband priced at £60 and single day Earlybird wristbands costing between £15 and £26, depending on the day. Tickets can be purchased via the Sŵn Festival website.
