Every Time I Die’s Jordan Buckley saves a fan’s life by spitting beer in their face

'You guys wanna hear a fuckin' crazy story?'

Every Time I Die‘s Jordan Buckley has shared a bizarre story detailing how he inadvertently saved a fan’s life by spitting beer in their eye.

The guitarist took to Twitter to reveal how a woman thanked him for the incident at one of the band’s shows because it helped her to discover a brain tumour.

“You guys wanna hear a fuckin crazy story?” he began. “A lady came up to me and said ‘I saw you guys a little bit ago, and you spit beer in the air, and I was in front and some got in my eye.’ I apologised [and] said our shows get wacky, never know what’s gonna happen. I was probably just trying to mimic someone way cooler than me.”

He continued, “She said the next day it was still bothering her, and she thought her eye was infected so she went to the doctor. I apologised 10 more times [and] braced myself for a lawsuit. So she went to the doctor; they did tests. [Her] doctor said she didn’t have an eye infection, she had a brain tumor, but they caught it early enough to perform surgery and remove it. She said it never would have gotten caught had she not gone in. She then thanked me for saving her life.”

In the past, the guitarist in the metal core band stopped a fan taking an onstage selfie, by karate kicking the phone out of the gig-goer’s hands.

Buckley went on to tweet about his dislike of onstage selfies, writing: “Stage selfies = look at me look at me I didn’t get enough attention as a kid and can’t handle 5 people here getting more attention than me”.

Every Time I Die formed in Buffalo, New York in 1998. They have released six albums, the most recent being their 2016 LP ‘Low Teens’.
