Ryan Jarman’s Exclamation Pony to release debut single ‘Pseudo Individual’/’Mazes’ in September

The Cribs man's other band will release double A-side next month

Exclamation Pony, the band formed by The Cribs‘ Ryan Jarman and Here We Go Magic’s Jen Turner, will release their debut recording in September.

The pair will put out the double A-side single ‘Pseudo Individual’/’Mazes’ on September 23 via Cult Records. According to Jarman, both songs were recorded “at a frenzied pace in and around New York City, at various studios, basements, bedrooms and anywhere else we happened to find ourselves”. Previously, they released the track ‘Rumours’ as a free download in February of this year.

Speaking in this week’s issue of NME, meanwhile, Ryan Jarman revealed that the duo planned to follow-up the single with a full-length album. “We have enough songs that are finished and mixed for an album, and we’re going to put out a single soon,” he said. “We have a deal for the next single, but the person we’re signed with is such a perfectionist. It’s been ready to go for a while, but we’re waiting until everything is perfect.”

Jarman’s other band, The Cribs, picked up the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music award at The NME Awards 2013. The band have released five albums since forming in 2003 with the most recent, ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull’, released in May 2012. In March of this year, the band also put out their demo collection ‘Payola’ collection free with NME.
