The band follow in the footsteps of Florence Welch, The Roots and Mystery Jets and Peace

Fall Out Boy are the latest act to cover Daft Punk‘s hit-single ‘Get Lucky’.

Fall Out Boy join Mystery Jets and Peace, The Roots and Florence Welch in covering the track. Florence And The Machine frontwoman Florence Welch covered ‘Get Lucky’ at a bar in south London this summer. Welch gave an impromptu performance of the track with function band Sourberry during their annual party at South London Pacific, doing a shot of tequila during the performance.

The original version of ‘Get Lucky’ has now been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify. ‘Get Lucky’ is already the most popular song in Spotify history and as of late last month it had racked up a massive 104,768,829 plays on the streaming service. It also holds the record for the most Spotify plays in a 24-hour period.

Meanwhile, the “official audio” of ‘Get Lucky’ on YouTube has also been streamed over 100 milion times, currently registering a play count of 119,749,076. On June 28, ‘Get Lucky’ became the first single released in 2013 to sell a million copies in the UK, taking just 69 days to cross the 1 million mark.

The French duo will follow ‘Get Lucky’ with ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’, another track from their Number One album ‘Random Access Memories’. Like ‘Get Lucky’, ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’ features Pharrell Williams on vocals and was co-written by Daft Punk with Williams and Chic’s Nile Rodgers. It’s been given a “focus date” of September 23.
