Pete Wentz ‘kills off emo’ with onstage haircut – video

Fall Out Boy bassist aided by Blink-182's Mark Hoppus for the stunt

Fall Out Boy‘s Pete Wentz has metaphorically killed off emo by having a “death of emo haircut” during the band’s New York Madison Square Garden gig last night (October 4).

Wentz, who turned 30 in June, was helped out on the stunt – which you can watch by scrolling down now – by Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus. Fall Out Boy were supporting Blink-182 at the gig.

Before his band played ‘Saturday’, Wentz went up to the microphone and said he was “going to need a drink” as Hoppus walked onstage.

“So you guys know Jay-Z‘s ‘Death Of Auto-Tune’, right?” Wentz then asked the audience. “This is the death of emo haircut.”

Hoppus then proceeded to shave off Wentz‘ hair, leaving him with a crewcut by the time Fall Out Boy had finished playing ‘Saturday’.
