Fat White Family tease new album ‘Serfs Up!’ in cinematic ‘Game of Thrones’-inspired video

The LP will follow 2016's 'Songs For Our Mothers'

Fat White Family have teased their upcoming new album ‘Serfs Up!’ in a new Game of Thrones-inspired clip. Check out the video below.

The south London outfit last released music in 2016 with their second LP ‘Songs For Our Mothers’. In a four-star review, NME labelled the record “gripping” and “sickening”, adding: “This band is challenging enough to listen to, let alone actually be in.”

Now, the group have shared a cinematic teaser online which promises that new material under the name ‘Serfs Up!’ is “coming soon”.

During the visuals – seemingly inspired by Game of Thrones – frontman Lias Saudi treks up rock faces with a throne, eventually taking a seat to admire a spectacular countryside view.

While the clip doesn’t state that ‘Serfs Up!’ is the album title, the clip’s director Niall Trask uploaded a behind-the-scenes image confirming it is indeed the name of the LP. Check out the photos below.

Last summer, Fat White Family joined Shame for an intimate show at The Windmill in Brixton. The London show raised money for The Amazing Snakeheads frontman Dale Barclay who had been diagnosed with brain cancer. Barclay passed away from the disease in September 2018.

Elsewhere, after calling Alex Turner a “fucking buffoon”, Fat White Family held an Arctic Monkeys ‘tribute’ gig in Sheffield upon the release of ‘Tranquility Base…‘.

“We’re putting on a tribute night in Sheffield next month in honour of our label mates, local legends, the Arctic Monkeys,” said the band in a statement. “Although Alex Turner almost certainly won’t be there, he will be with us in spirit, body and song.”
