ESSENTIAL FESTIVAL have confirmed that they have been forced to move their 2001 festival from BRIGHTON to LONDON because of fears about foot and mouth disease, NME.COM can reveal.
The event, which was headlined last year by Fatboy Slim and James Brown, was originally set to take place once again at Stanmer Park in Brighton. However, it will now take place on July 14-15 at Hackney Marshes in London.
“Although we’ll be sad to leave Brighton, the foot and mouth crisis obviously takes priority,” said Essential promoter Ish Ali in a statement. “But, thanks to the local authorities in London, Hackney Marshes offers us a chance to continue with the festival.”
He continued: “The extra space will allow more fans to see our line-up which, as ever, will offer the best of dance and roots entertainment.”
Tickets will go on April 20, priced £35 each.
