Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook is the largest representative of the UK in the MTV Music Video Awards with a mere three UK artists making any headway in the awards. The video for his hit ‘Praise You’ is up for the best dance video, direction, breakthrough and choreography awards.
The only other UK acts nominated are UNKLE up for best breakthrough video for ‘Rabbit In Your Headlights’ and Garbage up for best art direction and best special effects for ‘Special’.
The Beastie Boys are up for best hip hop video for ‘Intergalactic’ but it looks to be Korn‘s year as they garner the most nominations with nine.
Strangely the other artists competing with Fatboy Slim for the dance video award are not the usual suspects like Chemical Brothers or Underworld but the thumping floor-filling beats of Cher, Jordan Knight, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin.
The awards ceremony will be held in New York City’s Metropolitan Opera House on September 9.
