Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook to his mum) releases an album of remixes on June 22.
‘On The Floor At The Boutique’, features two of Fatboy Slim’s own tracks (‘Michael Jackson’ and forthcoming single ‘Rockerfeller Skank’, released June 8) plus remixes of Jungle Brothers, Cut La Roc and Bassbin Twins among others.
The release marks the move of Brighton’s Big Beat Boutique club night from seafront venue The Concorde (which is being demolished) to the town’s Beach nightclub at the end of this month.
A spokeswoman for Cook says: “Norman has been resident DJ since the beginning, so he was the obvious choice for the mix. He’s been the spirit and driving force behind the dancefloor mayhem since its inception in April ’96 and these are the tracks that have made the Boutique the biggest small club around.”
Currently, Norman Cook is busy recording the new Fatboy Slim album, the follow-up to 1996’s ‘Better Living Through Chemistry’. A release is expected before the end of the year.
