The two events take place in April, and boast appearances from Carl Cox and Norman Cook...

THE BOUTIQUE is to celebrate its fifth birthday with two parties in BRIGHTON, featuring NME CARLING AWARD winners CARL COX and FATBOY SLIM.

Originally planned as a surprise special guest for The Boutique’s fifth birthday celebrations, Carl Cox has now been officially confirmed as Norman Cook’s co-headliner at the club on April 27. Taking place at The Concorde 2 on Brighton’s Madeira Drive, the Boutique bash will be preceded by a similar party with X-Press 2 and Midfield General at the same venue on April 13.

“Why are we doing two? Well, we’re not a weekly club,” explained Boutique promoter Gareth Hansome. “If we were, we’d celebrate for a month! Our first party was on a Tuesday in 1996 and because the club’s small, it’s good to spread it over two days.” Cox, it transpires, is a big fan of the club. “Carl plays for us whenever he can, so why not?” said Hansome. “He is a local boy, after all!”
