Loch Ness dance music bash is a hit

Fatboy Slim delights the Scottish masses

Around 20,000 dance music fans congregated on the shores of Loch Ness yesterday (June 24) to hear a hit-packed set from Fatboy Slim.

Police said the one-day event in the village of Dores event passed largely without incident.

The all-day ‘Rock Ness’ bash also featured DJs Mylo and Carl Cox.

A spokesman for the Northern Constabulary said there had been a few arrests but these were for minor incidents. There had also been a number of drug seizures at the site but these were for small amounts.

There were also fears of major traffic problems around the banks of Loch Ness but no major incidents were reported.

The spokesman told the BBC: “There have been one or two incidents but nothing major.

“There have been a few things, as you would expect with a crowd of this size but nothing serious.

“In general the whole event has gone quite well. Tomorrow.”

One fan told NME.COM: “The whole event was really good, but by the evening it was bloody freezing!”
