The axeing of the event follows the cancellation of a similar bash in Las Vegas...
The CREAMFIELDS dance event due to take place in NEW YORK has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
As revealed by NME.COM in April, Cream planed to add to their annual event in Liverpool (August 25), with five international Creamfields events.
However, a press release has been issued to the US media which reveals that the event has been pulled, citing low ticket sales as the reason.
A spokesperson for Cream said: “Both Cream and (promoter) Clear Channel are hugely disappointed that the event is not going to take place this year. All the artists and DJs involved were looking forward to participating in such a significant event for dance and electronic music. We would like to apologise to anyone who has already purchased tickets and to anybody who was planning on doing so.”
The cancellation of the New York show follows the cancellation of an event Cream had organised in Las Vegas for September 29.
However, Creamfields in the UK is going ahead as planned in Liverpool and features Fatboy Slim, Gorillaz, Orbital, The Avalanches, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, Sasha, John Digweed, Darren Emerson, and Timo Maas.
