A series of events are taking place around the country to mark the England vs Australia Test matches, with Groove Armada and Talvin Singh also making appearances...

FATBOY SLIM, PAUL OAKENFOLD, GROOVE ARMADA and TALVIN SINGH are set to take part in a series of huge nationwide parties combining music, film and cricket, NME.COM can reveal.

The events, which will be built around this summer’s series of Test matches between England and Australia, will kick off on Brighton beach on July 6, when Fatboy Slim will headline a free party in front of an expected 20,000 revellers. Groove Armada will join him on that night’s bill. On the following evening, ‘Almost Famous’ will be screened onto a giant digital screen erected on the beach. The screen will also be used to broadcast the whole of the England/Australia cricket match live between July 5-9. A live feed will be taken from the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham.

On July 19, the Summer Tour will move to Bristol. Between July 19 and 23, the match from Lords will be beamed live from the giant screen at Burnham Downs. The DJ for the Friday night party (July 20) has yet to be announced, while ‘East is East’ will be broadcast the following evening.

By the time of the third match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, the tour will have hit Bradford. Talvin Singh will DJ in the city’s Centenary Square on August 3. The match will be beamed over five days from August 2 to 6.

The tour rounds up on London’s Clapham Common from August 23 to 27, when the match from The Oval will be broadcast. Paul Oakenfold will DJ on August 24.
