Father John Misty seduces his own double in the video to new single ‘The Night Josh Tillman Came To Our Apartment’

The track is taken from the singer-songwriter’s album ‘I Love You, Honeybear’, which was released in February. ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ is his second LP under the Father John Misty guise, and follows the eight albums he put out as J. Tillman.

Director Drew Pearce says this about the video: “This video is partially inspired by the LeBron James quote ‘It is precisely the superficial differences between people who are otherwise alike that inform the hostilities between them.’ Special thanks to my body double Tyler who I had to kiss no fewer than two dozen times and whose breath I can still smell in my mind’s eye. It has been an honor to explore the palpable sexual chemistry that exists between Josh Tillman and himself. I hope this video does their enduring love affair justice.”

As well as being a solo star and one-time drummer with Fleet Foxes, Tillman has also moonlighted as an agony aunt columnist, offering love advice to fans.

Father John Misty is scheduled to play two shows at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire this October 28 and 29.
