This year’s GLASTONBURY has started peacefully, with organisers saying crime is currently 21% down on last year.

According to the first figures released, as of 8am this morning there were 112,000 people on site, which is near capacity.

There had been 57 recorded crimes, compared to 72 at the same time last year. That’s a decrease of 21%. There had been no reported robberies.

Also, there have been 524 visits to the medical tents to date, mostly with people being treated for minor injuries. There have currently been no reports of serious illness.
