"The Other Stage was struck by lightning at the time we were supposed to be performing", they explain...
THE DEAD 60s have told NME.COM they’re “gutted” to have had their set pulled at GLASTONBURY – but that the stage they were due to play on was hit by lightning.
The band were one of the six groups who were unable to perform this morning after a massive thunderstorm hit the Glastonbury site.
The band have issued a statement to NME.COM, explaining the reason. It reads: “We’re absolutely gutted, not just for ourselves, but for all the other bands too. The Other Stage was struck by lightning at the time we were supposed to be performing, so we’re quite relieved in some way that the organisers closed the stage. We’re currently taking shelter in catering and have started on the brandy.”
Other bands effected include The Subways and Black Bud. With the exception of the Dead 60s, most of the others sets are likely to be rearranged over for some point over the weekend.
