The Happy Mondays are to reform to headline new festival GET LOADED IN THE PARK in August, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

Frontman Shaun Ryder and Bez will play a one-off performance at the one day event taking place on Clapham Common on August 22.

The show will be the Happy Mondays‘ first since the summer of 2000.

“For me this is about putting something back in,” explained Ryder. “I’ve been working with Get Loaded and Kav (promoter) for some time now and when the lads came up with the idea and said we’d be pushing loads of new bands as well, it just seem only right to be involved. I’m not dealing with corporates here, I’m dealing with a group of lads who just wanna make something happen!”

Other acts confirmed for the Main Stage include Bez’s new band Domino Bones, and DJ support form the likes of old Hacienda residents Mike Pickering and Graeme Park, the legendary Arthur Baker, plus the Get Loaded club night regulars Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon, [/a]Andy Rourke & Mike Joyce, with other acts still to be confirmed for this stage.

The I Swear I Was There stage features performances from The Cribs, The Ludes, Art Brut, The Stabilsers, Lysakoski, Dwarf Orgy, Devil And Miss Jones, Jism, Headland, The Violets and The Dukes.
