But the band eventually win over the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival crowd…
FIGHTSTAR battled the bottles at this afternoon’s CARLING WEEKEND: READING FESTIVAL (August 26).
The band – led by former Busted star Charlie Simpson – appeared to play their set on the NME/Radio 1 Stage but were met with an onslaught of missiles.
An eye witness told NME.COM: “They walked on and were met with a barrage of plastic bottles – some of them full. Charlie got hit in the face.”
She added: “The band brushed it off and kicked off their set regardless.”
However, after launching into a powerful set including tracks from their debut album ’Paint Your Target’, the group gradually won over the hostile audience members.
”They definitely won the crowd over though and they stopped throwing bottles,” another festival goer said.
