And The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne has some bubble trouble...var festival="yes";

THE CURE closed out CALIFORNIA’s COACHELLA festival last night (May 2) with a set of their greatest hits.

The band performed in front of a sell-out crowd which included actress Neve Campbell, Har Mar Superstar, ex-Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee, Johnny Knoxville, Jared Leto and Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz.

The group played an hour-and-a-half set which included ’Pictures of You’, ’Hundred  Years’, ’Lullaby’ and ’Love Cats’.

The British outfit rounded off a festival weekend that saw temperatures soar past 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat was so extreme several people were sent to the hospital over the two day stretch suffering from heat-plaguing illnesses.

The Flaming Lips also performed on the main stage in front of the 50,000 person strong crowd, though their set time was cut short due to technical difficulties frontman Wayne Coyne had with trying to get inside a plastic bubble the group had brought on as a stage prop.

The festival was a major success for promoters Goldenvoice, drawing in 100,000 people over the two days to check out Pixies, Radiohead, Basement Jaxx, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Desert Sessions, Kraftwerk, Ash, Muse and The Thrills.
