Razorlight have flown up the bill at this year’s CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS.

The skinny London rockers were due to play the Radio 1 stage on Friday 27 August in Reading and Saturday 28 in Leeds. Now, following the massive success of their album ‘Up All Night’, they have been promoted to the Main Stage, before fellow new additions New York Dolls on Saturday 28 in Reading and Sunday 29 in Leeds.

Both acts help fill the gap left by Vines, who have pulled out while singer Craig Nicholls recovers from ‘physical and mental exhaustion’.

Meanwhile, the line up for the Comedy and Cabaret Tent has also been announced. By day there’s a bumper line-up for the comedy tent.

In Reading, Friday sees Marcus Brigstoke, Mike Wilmote, Brendan Lovegrove, Mark Walker, Rick Right, Mickey Flanagan, Rob Rouse, Ian Cognito, JJ Whitehead and Mitch Benn with compere Cole Parker. On Saturday it’s Sean Lock, Jared Christmas, Marty Wilson, Sean Collins, David Hadingham, Alan Carr, Steve Gribbin, Noel James, Paul B Edwards, Carey Marx with compere Adam Crow. Sunday: Hypnotist Hugh Lennon, Tommy Tiernan, Ron Vaudry, Alex Zane, Phil Kay (TBC), Jason Cowley, Tom Stade, with compere Kevin McCarthy.

Then in Leeds, Friday sees Hypnotist Hugh Lennon, Sean Lock, Tom Stade, Steve Gribbin, Ron Vaudry, Gavin Webster, Adam Crow, Carey Marx, with compere Alan Carr. Saturday sees Tommy Tiernan, Mark Walker, B Lovegrove, Rick Right, Cole Parker, Phil Kay (TBC), Ian Cognito, Jack Cowley, Steve Harris (TBC), Mitch Benn plus compere JJ Whitehead. And finally, Sunday sees Marcus Brigstoke, Mike Willmot, Colin Cole, David Hadingham, Peter Berman, Jared Christmas, Noel James, Paul Provenza, Toby Foster and Sean Collins, with compere Paul B Edwards.

Then, 11pm, the tent turns into an after-hours cabaret big-top, featuring the stars of MTV’s Dirty Sanchez plus the Mongolian Laughing Boy and Artrocker DJs, among others.
