PIXIES performed a secret pre-COACHELLA gig outside LOS ANGELES last night (April 30).

Moving Units were billed alongside ‘Special Guests’ at the Pomona Glass House and shortly after 9.30pm, the guests were revealed as the Pixies. Frank Black and company then performed an hour long set to a crowd that included Jack Black, Juliette Lewis and Har Mar Superstar.

The group opened with ’Bone Machine’ and played over a dozen songs including ’Debaser’ and ’Gigantic’, which Black stopped mid-song. “I get nervous,” he said to bassist Kim Deal on stage. “It’s my guitar solo in the Pixies.”

The band will play the Coachella festival in Indio tonight (May 1) alongside Radiohead and Kraftwerk. Day one of the festival has been sold out for over a week and Ebay bidders have spent hundreds of dollars to buy touted tickets. As of Friday, Day 2, featuring The Cure and Flaming Lips also sold out making it the first time the festival has reached capacity in its five year history.
