One lucky band gets a call at the 11th hour...

Embrace will replace Jet at this weekend’s V FESTIVAL, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The Australian rockers decided to return home because of a family death.

The band were due to appear below Kings Of Leon on the NME Stage at this year’s event, which takes place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Stafford (August 21-22).

Organisers originally said that there would be no replacement for Jet. However, NME.COM can reveal that Embrace will step in.

Bandmember Danny McNamara said: “It was a bit of a shock to get the call – but I can’t wait! I’m just going to go on there and enjoy it. There’s no pressure, we’re like the underdogs in the Cup Final!”

NME.COM will be on site at this year’s V Festival all weekend, and will bring you the latest news, reviews, pictures and gossip from both sites.
