He was green and full of air...
The inflatable dinosaur that appeared onstage during KAISER CHIEFS’ classic GLASTONBURY set appeared during this evening’s V FESTIVAL appearance.
The band were playing an early evening set on the Channel 4 stage, when, during ’I Predict A Riot’, someone was seen blowing the dinosaur up.
Singer Ricky Wilson noticed it from the stage, and laughed out loud. Eventually, after being bounced around for two or three songs, a group of fans punctured it, effectively killing it off for good.
Wilson joked: “They’re killing that dinosaur out there!”
The dinosaur, or Kaisosaur as it was named, became famous duing the band’s appearance at the Glastonbury festival in June, when the band took a shine to it bouncing around the crowd and it eventually ended up on stage.
Elsewhere in their set Kaiser Chiefs celebrated being back in the UK, with Wilson ignoring the fact he was on crutches to put in an energetic display. Opening with Na Na Na Na Nah, he screamed “We’ve been around the world! We are the Kaiser Chiefs! It seems you’ve forgotten how to clap along since the last time we were here. Let’s here it for the Kaiser Chiefs!”
Other highlights of the set included ’The Modern Way’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less And Less’ and ’Oh My God’.
The band will now head up to Weston Park in Stafford, where they’ll play the second leg of V Festival tomorrow (August 21).
