The punters go mental for them - but after the duo have taken the time to speak to us, of course...
BASEMENT JAXX followed their GLASTONBURY headline slot in June with a fervently received set at BENICASSIM in Spain tonight (August 5).
The duo of Felix Buxton and Simon Radcliffe admitted to NME.COM that replacing the stricken Kylie Minogue on the Pyramid Stage in June was “an amazing buzz”. But they also said that they love playing Benicassim.
Buxton said: “It’s a bit weird following The Cure, the bill’s a bit weirder here.”
Radcliffe added: “It’s a very mellow vibe here, we enjoy it here, we’ve played here a couple of times before. It’s a shame we just have about an hour to play. The Cure got two hours!”
When asked about their late time onstage (1.55 am), Buxton told NME.COM: “I’m sticking to pineapple juice but it’s hard!”
The dance outfit then played a hits-packed set on the Escenario Verde stage, including ’Romeo’, ’Good Luck’ and a hysterically-received ’Where’s Your Head At?’.
