Unsigned bands competition winners revealed…
The GLASTONBURY UNSIGNED BANDS COMPETITION has announced more winners who’ll be playing at this year’s festival.
The finals for The John Peel Stage were held on March 19 at the Working Men’s Club in Pilton, Somerset, with The Mad Staring Eyes emerging victorious ahead of Transcargo, Duke Raoul, The Priscillas, Sound Development Agency and Tone.
The previous night (March 18) The Deadbeats triumphed in the Acoustic Stage competition, although runners-up Whalebone Polly will also be found a slot at the festival.
The two winners, along with Moya from the JazzWorld and The Bellagios from Dance competitions, are now being put forward for the overall winners slot on The Other Stage, which will be announced shortly once festival chief Michael Eavis has made his decision.
