The band fill in for the stricken rocker - but they make sure he isn't forgotten...

THE CHARLATANS paid tribute to the sadly absent DAVID BOWIE at the T IN THE PARK party on the MAIN STAGE tonight (July 10).

The band played before new headliners The Darkness, the slot becoming available after David Bowie pulled out due to health problems.

And The Charlatans did not disappoint the massive crowd who flocked to see them at the bash in Balado, near Kinross. As well as racing through a series of hits, the band played a snippet of Bowie’s 1977 classic ’Heroes’

Hits from the group’s set included ’One To Another’, ’Just When You’re Thinking Things Over’ (which frontman Tim Burgess dedicated “to the ladies”), ’How High’ and, appropriately, ’North Country Boy’. They also played songs from new album ’Up At The Lake’, including the title track and ’Try Again Today’.
