YEAH YEAH YEAHS have revealed details of the two new songs that are currently opening their sets at the CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS festivals.

Following their appearance in the NME Signing Tent, the New York trio took time out to speak to NME.COM about their future.

Singer Karen O said: “We playing two new songs tonight – ‘Down Boy’ and ‘Rockers To Swallow’. We have another new one called ‘Ten By Ten’ but we’re not playing it at the moment.”

She added, “Its good to come back to an audience with new material and let the crowd know that you’re writing new stuff… it’s always been the way with us.”

The band also spoke about their plans to return to the studio next year to begin work on the follow-up to this year’s debut ‘Fever To Tell’

The frontwoman said: “We have about five or six new songs and we’re going to head into the recording studio sometime in the Spring.”

Yeah Yeah Yeahs appearance in the NME Signing Tent proved to be a relief to fans after the band were forced to pull out on Friday in Leeds due to traffic problems.
