IN THEIR PLACE

The Echo And The Bunnymen star tells NME.COM he'd like to join his mates at their last UK gigs of the year...

Echo And The Bunnymen singer IAN McCULLOCH has told NME.COM he hopes to join COLDPLAY onstage at tonight’s V FESTIVAL in CHELMSFORD.

The star, who has been a massive influence on Coldplay and also turned up in the sessions for ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, has made occasional cameos onstage with the band over the last year. And he hopes to do it again.

“It’s up to Chris and the boys,” he said backstage at the NME’s signing tent. “I did it at T In The Park (in July) and it was fantastic, brilliant. It depends if he wants me stealing the show!”

Coldplay‘s gigs at V will be their last in the UK for approximately 12 months while they set to work on their third album.
