The Other Stage is taken over by yetis...

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS wound up the Other Stage on Saturday night (June 28) by transforming into a bunch of furry animals – each of the band finishing the set dressed up as a great big hairy yeti!

Two “mystery yetis” appeared on stage halfway through the set and drummed a massive drumming interlude, and then vanished… only to return after Cian’s electro-techno interlude during final song ‘The Man Don’t Give A Fuck’, the entire band going into feedback frenzy for the cranked-up finale in their yeti suits.

The set also included some older tracks, notably ‘Hermann Loves Pauline’ and ‘Mountain People’, which frontman Gruff Rhys described as “songs from the last century”.

‘The Man Don’t Give A Fuck’ was preceded by a Bill Hicks rant against marketing, ending with the repeated line: “All governments are liars and murderers.”
