Despite not playing live, NME.COM can reveal Macca has plans to come to Worthy Farm for fun...

BEATLES legend SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is expected to make a visit to GLASTONBURY today, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The star, who was in the running for a Pyramid Stage headline slot at this year’s event but couldn’t because of scheduling difficulties with Radiohead, is rumoured to be flying into the event via helicopter to watch bands including REM this evening.

A festival source told NME.COM: “He’s supposed to be flying into a nearby farm at some point today. Let’s wait and see what happens!”

McCartney is not the only one rumoured to be flying in to the site. Rocker Bryan Adams may also come down to Worthy Farm over the weekend. NME.COM will bring you the latest news throughout the day.
