The bands are arriving, and so are the fans!...

T IN THE PARK is underway with music fans gearing up for the return of THE DARKNESS.

The festival, now in its eleventh year, will today (July 10) see performances from Muse, The Libertines, who will be playing without estranged guitarist Pete Doherty, Keane, and a rare appearance from rap legends Wu-Tang Clan.

On the Main Stage The Darkness top the bill after original headliner David Bowie pulled out because of health concerns.

According to press reports, Justin Hawkins’ catsuit for the gig tonight has cost £20,000, and it’s anticipated the group could play some new songs from their forthcoming second album.

Festival goers on site have woken up to overcast skies and softness underfoot, but the weather forecast for today is for the chance of light rain and temperatures in the region of 14 Celsius.

Bands opening the festival include Big Brovaz on the Main Stage and Kasabian on the NME Stage.

In other news, BBC news reports that local police have launched a probe into an alleged ticket scam at the festival, after Internet auction site eBay said it had received complaints. Organisers are stressing tickets should only be bought from official outlets.
