That Mike Skinner is full of surprises...

THE STREETS thrilled the crowd on the NME/RADIO1 STAGE at T IN THE PARK tonight (July 9) with a set which included most of their greatest hits – and allowed MIKE SKINNER to reveal some diverse musical influences.

Making reference to last week’s Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, he said: “What about Live 8, eh? Wasn’t Robbie Williams’ singalong amazing? I know this isn’t as big as Live 8, but I need to sell a few more records so give me a singalong like Robbie’s.”

He also urged the crowd to go and see bluegrass covers band Hayseed Dixie the next day, saying: “I tell you, they’re great – we’d be going ourselves, but we’re leaving tonight.”

Among the hits played by Skinner and his band were ’Let’s Push Things Forward’, Number One single ’Dry Your Eyes’ and set closer ’Fit But You Know It’.
